Flight preparation

We are flying to Palm Springs on Saturday and this will be the first time Blake will have her own seat now that she’s over 2 years old. Fun fact: when you book flights with WestJet, you can reserve your seats for FREE when you are traveling with children. Score! I’m trying to find information on free seat reservation with children and I am unable to find it. We were told it was free over the phone when we booked through WestJet MasterCard to use our points. The flight from Vancouver, BC to Palm Springs, CA is 2 hours and 51 minutes which seems short— if your child is quietly sleeping or sitting for the entire flight. The last time we flew with WestJet, they didn’t have screens available for inflight entertainment; I believe it is only available for longer flights. That means we need our own smart device and/or entertainment for the flight. I went to Your Dollar Store With More down the road and scored some goodies all for under $20. I bought:

• 6 – Play Pack Grab & Go (one not in photo) | $1 each
• 2 – Grab and Go | $4 each
• 2 – Stickerland books with 6 pages in each book | $1.25 each
• 1 – Sticker pack with 8 sheets | $1.25

I don’t plan on bringing all the Play Packs since I’m saving some for future outings like going out to restaurants or using them as back up in the diaper bag. Here’s what I plan on bringing:

• 2 – Grab and Go
• 2 – Play Pack Grab & Go
• 3 pages of stickers

In addition to sticker fun, we’ll be packing books and snacks with it all. I’ll update everyone on how successful or unsuccessful the stickers were after Saturday. Stickers, snacks, smart device, books, 2 parents, 1 toddler and a baby should be fine right?
